An education trip for M.Sc. (Physics) students to Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST), Mohali was organized by the institute on 13.03.2024. During their visit, these students had the opportunity to tour numerous cutting-edge research facilities housed within the institute.
Mr. Nikhil Kumar, M.Sc. (Physics) final year student has been selected as a researcher for the purpose of carrying out a research project at Friedrich-Schiller-Universitat Jena (Germany) for a period 01.07.2024 to 30.06.2027 with a monthly gross pay of Euro 2831.14.
Dr. Jagdeep Singh, Assistant Professor (Guest Faculty) of the Department of Physics, SLIET Longowal, honoured the National Science Day celebrations at S. Govt College of Science Education and Research, Jagraon District Ludhiana, Punjab with a captivating invited lecture titled “Exploring the Frontiers of Science”. His profound expertise and enthusiasm illuminated the occasion, imparting valuable insights and knowledge to the college faculty, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate students and staff.”

Raman-Charpak Fellowship-2023
We are happy to share that Kailash (Ph.D. Student in Physics Department) with registration no. PPH-2131 has received the prestigious Raman-Charpak Fellowship-2023 funded by Department of Science and Technology, Government of India, Service for Science and Technology (SST), French Embassy in India / Ambassade de France en Inde and Ministry of Foreign Affairs & International Development, Govt. of France.
The Fellowship was launched during the State visit of the President of France to India in February, 2013. This programme implemented by the Indo French Centre for Promotion of Advanced Research (IFCPAR/ CEFIPRA) aims at improving the doctoral skills of Indian and French students by providing them an opportunity to carry out part of their research work in a University / Research & Development Institute based in France or India respectively.

Rekha Rani participated (fully sponsored by organizers) in SERB sponsored high-end workshop on “Theory and applications of In Silico Approach for Material Modelling” 5-11 February, 2024 at Central University Bathinda.
The Department of Physics of SLIET Longowal organized an educational tour to IISER Mohali on October 13, 2023. The tour was specifically arranged for M.Sc. (1st and 2nd year) students with the purpose of visiting advanced research labs and research centers in the institute.
Ms. Akanksha Bhardwaj, research scholar with regd. No. PPH-1803 in the department of Physics attended and presented her paper in the METANANO Summer School on Nanophotonics and Advanced Materials at QUINGDAO, CHINA, organized by University of Russia from 16-18 August, 2023. The visit was financed by DST, Govt. of India and the organizers of the school.
